OUR LADY OF AMERICA - NEWSLETTER

February 5, 2008
Feast of St. Agatha, Martyr

"Who is She who comes forth like the morning rising,
fair as the Moon, bright as the Sun,
terrible as an army set in battle array?"
[Song of Solomon 6:10]

Nine month Novena to Our Lady of America starts today!

Nine months from today our country will elect new leaders.  Please join in this nine month novena praying that America will chose wisely and respond to the requests of Our Lady of America.

Novena Prayer:

Our Lady of America, Lily of Purity, intercede for our country during the coming elections. Since you are the ever Virgin Mary and Mother of the true God, obtain for us from the Most Holy Trinity a president and other political leaders who will support life, who will change the laws to make abortion in any form illegal, and who will protect the life of each individual at every stage. Our Sweet Mother, intercede for us that our next president will be a man of God who will help the United States become a country of great purity and high morality. A country that will uphold family life and influence other countries throughout the world to love God above all, to serve Him and to live for Him alone.

Our Sweet Mother, time and again you have given us your gracious assistance and thus we humbly and gratefully acknowledge you as Queen of America. Intercede for us now, as we beg for the end of abortion in our country and for the uprising of a culture of life. We place our hope and our confidence in you! Our Lady of America, pray for us and may Our Eternal Father shine His light upon this country and the whole world.  Amen.

This prayer comes to us from the
Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration, Our Lady of the Angels Monastary in Hanceville, Alabama.

From the messages:

On the eve of  the feast of the North American Martyrs, September 25, 1956, as I was making the Holy Hour from 7:00 to 8:00
p.m., I was conscious of the distinct and special feeling of the presence of Our Lady. She stood by my side and spoke to me. I
felt, rather than saw her, though I did see a part of her white gown and a small portion of her blue sash. I was under the impression
that she came as Our Lady of Lourdes, and she herself confirmed this. Our Lady promised that greater miracles than those
granted at Lourdes and Fatima would be granted here in America, the United Stares in particular, if we would do as she desires.

These are the words she spoke to me at this time:
"I am pleased, my child, with the love and honor my children in America give to me, especially through my glorious and unique
privilege of the Immaculate Conception. I promise to reward their love by working through the power of my Son's Heart and
my Immaculate Heart miracles of grace among them. I do not promise miracles of the body, but of the soul."

Although it might seem like we have no good choices to lead the world to peace in this upcoming election, the promise of Our Lady of America is for miracles of the soul, i.e. conversions.  May we pray that the soul who is most open to Heavenly Grace be granted the victory through our prayer and the intercession of Our Lady of America.

Feedback:

Our last newsletter discussed how Our Lady of America is the end to abortion.
We received some excellent feedback, a portion of which is here for your consideration.

Dear Langsenkamp Family Apostolate,
I like to add a comment on what you just wrote below. The main point I want
to address is that we still have abortion because we did not listen to the
message of OLA.

It was quite obvious to some of us or quite some years who look at things
with perhaps a greater sense of honesty why it is that we still have
abortion. You mentioned chastity. And you are getting much much closer to
the answer. Unfortunately it is not close enough. And that became absolutely
obvious to me this last fall when I actually participated in an
anti-abortion demonstration in front of our church which is adjacent to a
major, 4 lane street with lots of traffic. It was a hot day. The sun was
burning. It was 2 pm. And all the women who participated holding those anti-
abortion placards were dressed as they always do on a hot day. You know what
I mean? It was a nice show of lots of flesh and curvature. And I knew that
day that we would never defeat abortion if even the women who demonstrate
against abortion dress like they did. But it is a political correctness
thing to say something and this and that and all kinds of things including
'being nice' to people, especially to emancipated women. But either you want
to defeat abortion or you want to be like everybody else with their freedom.
We still do not understand. Our Lady said it many times to the women even
50 years ago: dress modestly. This is where it all begins. Abortion is the
end result. You try to tell them. Doesn't anybody see this whole setup and
how it works? Just because we are Catholic doesn't make it any better - far
from it - it makes it worse.

I am white, European, Catholic male immigrant from Germany no less. Hell
would freeze over before they listened to a guy like me. Their whole
propaganda machine has trivializeed and marginalized men like me for
decades. Now we have run out of time - and we still have abortion - even if
it's down 10-20%. So we only kill 1.1 million a year. Sorry to say. And then
we think we can just walk away from it as if nothing had happened. Such
blindness.

I should not even have started. But I stop now.
God bless.

Dear Langsenkamp Family Apostolate,

The pain and suffering of children because of unchaste behavior of their parents
goes beyond abortion. Today the children of our country (and others in which contraception
is widespread) come into the world wondering if they are "wanted".

I  our case, my husband and I were engaged when we became sexually active and conceived.
I was not using contraception, but did not think I would conceive based on my knowledge
(faulty) of my fertility. Although  our hearts were open to this little life and never
contemplated abortion; my son now 26, I know in my heart, suffers with a certain lack of
confidence that I do believe has to do with the circumstance of his conception.

I wrote him a letter to make very clear our love for him at his very conception and that he
was always wanted and that he never has to DO anything to win our love. I apologized for
our selfish behavior and that he deserved a mom and dad that had made their wedding
vows first. He appreciated that letter so much, but I still see him suffer.

I beg Our Lady of American will help us in our conversion of heart to the truth, meaning
and beauty of the gift of our sexaulity in the sacrament of marriage.

There is the death of the innocent and the immense suffering of the living because of
contraception. Even if a couple are married, but use contraception the children still
wonder..."was I planned, was I wanted." I know this because our second son who was
conceived in our marriage asked that question. What a deep sorrow in this mother's heart.

Mother Mary, Our Lady of American, pray for us. Sister Mary, pray for us!
