Imitate the Holy Family? How?

As a personal response, Our Lady of America asks us to imitate the Holy Family, using their life at Nazareth as an example. From the messages:

On November 8, 1954, a short time after the visit of the Angel of Peace, Our Lady spoke to me in these words: "It is the wish of my Son that fathers and mothers strive to imitate me and my chaste spouse in our holy life at Nazareth. We practiced the simple virtues of family life, Jesus our Son being the center of all our love and activity. The Holy Trinity dwelt with us in a manner far surpassing anything that can ever be imagined. For ours was the earthly paradise where once again God walked among men.

"As in our little home no sin was to be found, so it is the wish of the Heart of my Son and my Immaculate Heart that sin should, as far as possible, be unheard of in the homes of our children.

"The Divine Trinity will dwell in your midst only if you are faithful in practicing the virtues of our life at Nazareth. Then, you also, my children, you also will become another paradise. God will then walk among you and you will have peace.

"I need your help to bring peace into the world. Do not disappoint me."

Throughout the ages saints, theologians and scholars have added great answers to the question “Who is She?” From their study the mystery of the Blessed Virgin Mary becomes more vivid, deep and amazing.

As His early years were mostly hidden, there is little of the Holy Family in scripture. So, it begs the question, how can we imitate that which we do not know?  Isn’t it necessary that we know well the model of our imitation in order to be successful?

What if we had a biography of the Blessed Mother as our guide?  Certainly, that would be a great help in fulfilling Our Lady’s request.  Fortunately, Heaven provides!

Heaven never asks of us anything for which it has not provided all that is necessary to succeed.  It may require great desire, work, study and prayer, but even the imitation of the Holy Family is within our grasp.

How to imitate the life of the Holy Family.

In the 17th Century, the Venerable Mary of Jesus of Ágreda (Spain) penned The Mystical City of God: Life of the Virgin Mother of God. This book is said to have been written at the direction of the Blessed Virgin Mary and mystically inspired by Her.  It is a biography of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the life of the Holy Family.   It is specifically the model that is needed to properly fulfill Our Lady’s request to imitate the Holy Family.

I have a strong conviction that Our Lady of America is pointing to The Mystical City of God as the source of the knowledge necessary to properly imitate the Holy family.   Very simply, my conviction is rooted in one significant historical fact.   The English Imprimatur for the book was given at Rome City, Indiana at the very same Precious Blood Sisters’ (C.Pp.S) facility where Our Lady of America first appeared.  Coincidence?  I think not!

      David,

Try to order it on Amazon or eBay. There is also an abridged edition that is much shorter than the 2,600 pages of the original. If you are ok with reading it on a computer or tablet then there are links at the bottom of the post to download for free. Personally, I am reading it on an iPad.

        Hi ahlangse,

I recently ordered an Our Lady Of America medal and would just like to know have they already been blessed? I’m sorry for reaching out in this manner as I’m not sure how else or who to contact regarding this question. Thank you, God bless you all and stay well

          Jesse,

The medals have not been blessed. Catholic teaching prohibits the selling of blessed objects, so we adhere to that principle. Have your medal blessed makes it uniquely yours.

          God Bless,
